example:  The player could make the word 'quiz'.

Play continues in a clockwise direction.

The next player can add letters to the existing word, exchange letters with cards from their hand or mix the letters already played to make a new word. If they used cards from their hand they must take new cards from the deck so that they have 7 cards.

The points are counted and added to that players score.

8 + 1 + 1 + 8 = 18pts

Should the player not be able to make a new word they discard a card of choice and place it next to the deck face up. They must then take a the top card from the deck or the top card of those face up on the table. They cannot play this round.

Ending the game.

The game ends when a player has used all of their cards, when all players have not been able to make a new word or you can set a time limit but make sure that each player has had the same amount of rounds.

The player with the highest score wins.

That word is placed face up on the table and the score is added to that player on the score sheet.

example:  The player could change the word 'quiz' to 'quick'. The letter 'z' is removed and added to that players hand. The letters 'c' and 'k' are added to make the new word. The points are counted and added to that players score

8 + 1 + 1 + 3 + 4 = 17pts

We recommend using 2 sets of alphabetony cards so as to have a higher number of cards.

How to play.

For two or three players if using one sets of cards.

For two to six players if using two sets of cards.

The object of Spellitony is to make words and score more points than the other players.

A player collects points by making words with the cards in their hand.

Each letter has a different point value, so the strategy becomes to play

words with high scoring letter combinations.

Starting the Game.

The cards are separated, capital and small letters. For this game use only the small letters.

Prepare a score sheet with the names of the players.

Decide on a dictionary to use in case of a dispute.

Players are dealt 7 cards. The remaining cards are placed as a deck, face down on the table.

Players look at their cards and try to make a word. Each player who can make a word tells the other players that they can. If more than one player can make a word those players count the points on that word and the player with the highest score starts the game.

Spellitony Simple

The longest word you could make with 1 set of cards is 'subdermatoglyphic'. Good luck!
